On September 29, 2023, I spoke at an event in Baker City, Oregon, which is tucked away in the state’s conservative far eastern region near the Idaho border. This wasn’t a seminar regarding election integrity, and as is my custom in events like that, I appealed to those in attendance to find what it is they are passionate about, and get busy doing those things. What I said then is just as true today as patriots now must choose between passivity or engagement.

Nothing worth having in life comes easy, and my Dad also told me, “10 percent of the people lead the way. 90% are just along for the ride.” It takes absolutely no resiliency, no guts, no talent, and no courage to be part of that 90 percent. You’re going to be here for sixty, seventy, eight years. You’re going to collect your 401k. You’re going to amass possessions. You’re going to upgrade your technology every couple years and then you’re going to die.
And then they’re going to roll you into a grave. And who is going to look back at the things you did in your life if you did not embrace getting out of your comfort zones? People can look back at the legacy you left - look at the Founding Fathers. They’ve been dead for two centuries and we still talk about them today. I still draw encouragement and motivation from their truth, which is always valid.
George Washington said, “Liberty, once it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” Once it begins to take root - have we planted that? Are we preparing our fields to receive the rain? That’s what we have to do. Thomas Jefferson said, “If you’ve reached the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on.”
