The Wisconsin Supreme Court, in deciding Teigen vs. Wisconsin Elections Commission, announced today that absentee ballot drop boxes are illegal outside of elections offices, and that only the voter may return a ballot to a given elections office. This effectively cripples ballot mule operations in a state in which seven percent of absentee ballots were estimated to be trafficked.
If this decision stands, unsupervised drop boxes being stuffed in the dark of night by paid ballot mules (traffickers) will be a thing of the past in the Badger State. Wisconsin, as you likely recall, was decided by less than 21,000 votes in 2020, with the decisive ballots coming from Dane and Milwaukee Counties into the wee hours of the morning. Voters went to bed with Trump holding a dominant lead in the state and awakened to a different reality (Michigan also fell in the early morning hours of November 4).
