No one likes sunshine pumpers and “hopium” merchants. I would argue that some who fall into either category have caused grave damage to actual progress by forcing people to remain passive, sitting on their hands waiting for something they were assured would happen. I believe very strongly in the power of every individual to make a profound difference in society, impacting others for meaningful action and galvanizing entire movements to take up the good fight.
Though I am known for being mostly positive, I greatly prefer realism over unfounded theory or misguided hope. I had no choice but to offer sober recommendations as an intelligence officer, because my commander’s final operations orders hinged largely on my section’s assessment of enemy strength and capabilities. To understate those could imperil members of the unit and compromise the mission entirely.
With this said, I do not underestimate the abilities of the enemies of freedom. They have been hard at work for many decades stripping away, piece by piece, the sinews of liberty all across the nation. Most failed to realize it until the symptoms became severe because our nation suffers from what I call “affluenza,” a condition in which even the relatively poor in our country are wealthy compared to the rest of the world, where over 3 billion people live on less than $2 per day.
It took blatant lockdowns, unscientific forced masking, cancel culture, urban violence by the likes of BLM and Antifa, and widespread election fraud to wake up many millions of sleepwalkers, with that number growing by the day. I have only truly been “awake” for about eight years. I’ve always been “conservative,” before I realized that conservatism has conserved absolutely nothing for many decades. I voted. I knew how treacherous leftist policies were long ago, but it took Romney’s “gracious” bellyflop and impotent GOP House and Senate majorities in Obama’s closing years, combined with the establishment’s attempted rejection of Donald Trump, to fully open my eyes to the magnitude of national corruption at hand.
But still, I remain an optimist.
