All the talk about Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., as an appropriate running mate for President Trump in 2024 is just that – talk.
If you’ve followed my non-statistical commentary for the past two years, you probably realize that I don’t dislike people solely for having different, even sometimes extremely different political views. In fact, I appreciatepeople who can explain and defend their views and tend to resent those who only espouse views from an emotional standpoint. The latter disposition is fine when it comes to attending a rally but falls apart under scrutiny when questioned by a rival who is well-versed on his or her own adopted ideology.
Having said these things, I certainly do not dislike RFK, Jr. While I do not agree with a lot of his positions, I agree with some, and more than anything, appreciate his willingness to form and promote original thoughts, which is certainly not a hallmark of the hive-minded modern left. He has enough divergent opinions to clearly signal that he is a rare, left-of-center outsider, and if he were to prove a threat to the DNC, would certainly be treated by his own party like the Republican Party treated then-candidate Trump in 2015-16.
It is no secret that President Trump opposes the corruption within the Republican Party. Unfortunately, due to political reality and available chess pieces, he sometimes must choose the least bad options for endorsements. Sometimes we get slam-dunk picks like Kari Lake, and other times we get established political re-treads touting his endorsement. The Republican Party is merely a vehicle for political solutions in a system designed to elect members of only two major parties in almost all outcomes.
Presumably, “America First” ideology could be promoted by both parties, who would both be restrained by the Constitution and the Rule of Law. A left of center proposition driven by a hypothetical (and at this point, imaginary) Democrat to re-direct big government dollars from Ukraine to, say, investing in factories in Ohio, would be promoting a solution that puts the American people first. With clean elections and two parties that promoted political solutions that protected the rights and championed the needs of the American people, the volatility of the political spectrum would be evened out in short order, with both parties promoting solutions that were attainable, actionable, and hopefully successful over the long run.
Simply being an unwelcome political outsider does not make one America First. Consider Marianne Williamson, who ran for president as a Democrat in 2020 – she was and is an outsider and is thought to be bat-sh*t crazy by her own people. She is most definitely not an America First candidate just because she is a pain in the political establishment’s ass.
While compiling this article, social media research guru “Major Kalhoun” dropped his own RFK, Jr., dossier in the comments of one of my Truth Social posts. It is well-researched and deep, and compiles years of history from many sources into one place. Politically, it highlights endorsements of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as some of his long-standing activist positions.
Since he is running as a Democrat, he will need those endorsements for credibility with disaffected Democrats suffering under Joe Biden’s regime; additionally, I allow people to change their minds on this side and have not held previous Democrat affiliation or endorsements over modern-day America First patriots who have sincerely and obviously changed their stripes. After all, if people aren’t allowed to change their minds, how can we change the country?
America First is about outcomes. It is not about “conservative” or “liberal,” “red” or “blue,” or even “Republican” or “Democrat.” The ideology itself is lost on nearly all who remain Democrats, given that two Trump campaigns to this point washed over the homes of Reagan Democrats and brought Trump’s vote totals to record highs (somehow surpassed by someone who didn’t campaign).
What America First Believes – Elevator Pitch
*Follow the Law
*Make the Economy Work for Us
*Use American Resources for America
*No Needless Wars
*Nations have Borders
*Clean Up the Crime
*More Freedom
None of the above items should ever be labeled as “conservative.” They are common sense solutions, only residing under the Republican roof because Democrats are brainwashed, insane, and the products of a decaying society with a destroyed moral fiber.
Kennedy announced his candidacy earlier this week in Boston, and backed away from some of his previously held positions and beliefs, as noticed by even the mainstream media, who certainly seeks to ensure Joe Biden or an establishment Democrat of choice is nominated in 2024.
From CBS:
In a speech in Boston, Kennedy stressed his 30 years as an environmental lawyer and said the country is living in toxic polarization. But he notably did not mention his own anti-vaccine views or group, the Children's Health Defense, which researchers have found is among the most influential spreaders of anti-vaccine misinformation. Facebook and Instagram have both removed the group's accounts for spreading misinformation.
Any speech given to Democrats must also include an appropriate level of Trump-hate, which is like catnip to left-wing minds. Trump was directly blamed for the coronavirus lockdowns; in hindsight, I’m sure Trump wishes he had overridden some of the bureaucracy in those early days of the breakout, but ultimately, blue state governors sabotaged their own constituents and deprived them of liberty in order to create the political quagmire for President Trump.
"A lot of people say President Trump gets blamed for a lot of things that he didn't do. And he gets blamed for some things that he did do. But the worst thing that he did to this country, to our civil rights, to our economy, to the middle class in this country is lockdowns," Kennedy said.
In this author’s view, President Trump was misled by his medical staff, and in thinking the 2020 election would be fraudulent, yet winnable (like in 2016), was hesitant to do anything drastic, such as firing Drs. Fauci or Birx at the height of a campaign in which COVID management was a critical issue. In fact, President Trump originally proposed limited restrictions and “15 Days to Slow the Spread,” which was widely criticized by the mainstream media, medical establishment, and even lame Republican governors, some of whom locked their states down as if trying to out-do Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, Tim Walz, or Tom Wolf.
What is Good about RFK, Jr., politically?
Critical of Bureaucracy and Lockdowns – Kennedy is right to rail on lockdowns, which represent the most severe mass deprivation of rights in modern history, and led to a major increase in mental illness, suicide, and joblessness.
