In what has become an annual tradition, I released my “Ten Bold Predictions for 2024” on January 1. While I hit 6 of 10 dead on the screws last year, I am on pace to exceed that mark in 2024. In point 4 of this year’s array of predictions, I wrote that all judicial persecution of Donald Trump would fail. So far, I am on the way to being proven correct, and be it further known I will consider myself correct even if some politically inspired verdicts come out of these deliberations. Ultimately, because the end goal of these proceedings is the destruction of all things Trump (including his political and cultural movement), this entire effort is doomed to fail.
I get most of my exposure to talking heads when I go to the gym. I’m not a fan of using cardio equipment, where all the TVs are located, but sometimes a resistance machine or set of weighs brings me danger close to said string of TV sets, or I must pass them to go to the locker room or refill my water bottle. For the sake of the gym seeking to please a broad customer base, some of the TVs are set to CNN, some to Fox News, while others are dialed into sports channels like ESPN.

Every day, some recent college grad no one knows, who just spent hours on hair and makeup, is in front of some new courthouse, exasperated, verbally and emotionally vomiting into a microphone while giving a rapidly diminishing audience the latest on how this or that subject they don’t understand will, undoubtedly, spell the end of Trump. Knowing his nomination was otherwise inevitable, something had to be done to slow his ascent to this point in which he is running roughly ten points ahead of his previous polling numbers in a reelection campaign he should have won anyway, if not for 81 million “votes.”
The entire fabrication, which is a betrayal of every judicial oath known to the legal profession and practically all rational mankind, is what catapulted a hungry field of professional politicians, posers, and fakers into the 2024 race without a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding by conventional means. Every gag order and threat of arrest pushes Trump further up in the polls and earns him new voters, which is exactly why it seems as if Trump is baiting Judge Merchan to have him thrown in jail. The impact of Trump reporting to the clink would make his mugshot from last August look like just another endless afternoon in the dog days of summer.
So, why in the hell aren’t these all-out narrative and legal assaults working? Why do I remain so confident that my prediction will hold?
Let me give you three reasons why Americans are simply disinterested in the ongoing network news soap opera:
