So true. There is something to be said re yard signs and bumper stickers. We lived in DFW metro in October 2016, and it seemed like everyone was keeping quiet about politics that year in our area. However, we took fall foliage trip to New England in Oct. ‘16 and spent a lot of time in Pennsylvania, Vermont, NY, and NH. We were dumbfounded how much visible support was in those states that were suppose to be Bernie/ Clinton/ Biden home territory. There were two prominent billboards for Trump in Scranton, and hundreds of yard signs. We covered the entire state of Vermont and ONLY saw Trump signs, and bumper stickers. That is when we realized that Trump had a good chance of winning Dem states. Turns out, these visible displays were more accurate than the polls we were given. I really wish that there was a way to outlaw polling before elections since it can be skewed easily. And the negative polls can be mentally defeating for people like me.
