And the difference is half a %? At least half the Brazilian people voted for Bolsanaro. Weren't Dominion machines involved there to some extent?
Thank you for telling it like it is Captain, as painful as it is for us to listen, probably as much as it is for you to write it.
For over 10 weeks I've spent 15-30 hours a week on many aspects of our elections here in Salt Lake County. Including walking 3-5 hours a day 4 days a week distributing literature for the campaigns of some great candidates. (Not including stapling the literature together for multiple campaigns so I can deliver multiple messages with one drop.) Putting up signs, only to have those on the Left promptly rip them down. It made headlines here when conservative campaign signs were ripped down in a coordinated attack and replace by STOP EXTREMISM.
Then stopping the literature distribution when our county GOP begged for poll watchers while ballots were being processed. Spent 30+ hours in various aspects of that, watching poll workers move paper around. Then spent 20+ hours in a local voting center. Watched a sham of a post-election audit, which turned on a light bulb. I think I know what is going on with the voter roll books. Then begged the county council to gather certain information from the election center (like CVRs, and comparing the number of portable media drives delivered to the count of those uploaded) before certifying election results, only to be ignored and told, "I have complete confidence in our election system even though I lost my reelection."
I've seen resources stretched to ultra thinness, both in terms of volunteers in the local GOP and on the campaigns. I could list a lot of shouda's but won't. When my disgust has subsided, I will try and address the party on the shoulda's. Our great candidates all lost. We've been told by our media that here on the west side of our county people are less white, less educated, etc to care about our elections and their turnout was low. I am doing a data dive into that right now. These numbers need to be double and triple-checked but for 2022, looks like westside turnout was about 50%, eastside turnout 70%. Comparatively for 2020, westside turnout was about 84%, eastside turnout about 91%. I think something smells here.
What an eye opener all this has been. I do not regret a single thing I've done for an instant. And amazingly, I don't feel despondent or depressed about it. On the contrary, doing something has lifted the spirits. I recommend that everybody try and do something, even if only for an hour a week. Even if you can only manage a zoom call in to your local county commissioners meeting.

Yes. Keep on, Seth. I believe EVERYONE needs to hear this. Where I live in SW Idaho, people say, "Welll, not in IDAHO... looking at me knowingly. Oh wow. So, I then tell them. How far is it from Boise, Nampa, Caldwell to our agricultural community? How many people are there living on this wide Snake River plain? Where is the one north-south highway in Idaho? How much traffic is on that highway going through our county? Where do you think those people are going to go when they get hungry?
