DeSantis running would be an unforced error given the reasons you stipulated. If he doesn't run in 24 and bides his time I think it is noteworthy that he resisted the establishment and media efforts to use him for their own ends in running against Trump. If he rejects their influence in running for POTUS 2024, this is an additional feather in the cap for his run in 2028 as he has shown he is not controlled by the elites that sought to use him in their crusade to defeat the grassroots.

Really enjoy reading your perspective. Usually agree with it!! I think many people backing DeSantis are not aware he's being backed by the worst RINOs!

Trump must win to come back and finish the job he started! So We the People must do everything in our power to make that occur, with the help of GOD!

Seth:

Great analysis. Agree in part, but some points of contention. (I live in FL, so that influences my take.)

A dream ticket - albeit increasingly unlikely - would be Trump-DeSantis. Absent that, DeSantis waiting his turn would absolutely be my preference. Donald J. Trump has earned my loyalty. He's done a great job in FL (with some caveats, below). So I have a selfish reason for him completing his term.

>>and their voters would be so disgusted by the Republican establishment lining up to crater the Trump campaign that they will not provide the needed enthusiasm edge in a hypothetical 2024 election to get DeSantis, or anyone else, over the top.

I don't think that the GOPe cares. It's UniParty, so if Biden (or whoever) wins in 2024, they're good with it.

There are various takes on the GOPe lining up behind DeSantis. I believe that in large part they're using him to suck off enough Trump primary voters, leaving room for someone else to come up from behind (think McCain 2008).

And if DeSantis somehow succeeds in getting the nomination, if he's really leaning America First / MAGA Lite, the GOPe will turn on him too (in favor of the UniParty Democrat). If he's just ambitious and gets with the UniParty program behind closed doors, the election machines may be configured such that he'll win (in order to help maintain the pretext that U.S. elections are "free and fair"). My suspicion is that he would have won in FL (2022) nothwithstanding -- but was allowed to have his own "red wave" so as to discredit Trump as his "red wave" was derailed (via fraud).

In any case, by releasing a book and going on tour, DeSantis is acting like he's about to announce (though the planning and execution for such have a long lead time, so maybe the recent polls will cool his jets).

Caveats: DeSantis hasn't really addressed election integrity in FL; while he's made some positive moves at the margins, FL is still in ERIC, and the election machines remain in place, and unquestioned by DeSantis. This lack of action on his part has given me pause about him for some time.

Also, he's been notably MIA in talking about the coup d'etat / stolen election of 2020, and about J6. Conspicuous by his absence from those fields of battle.

I'll be disappointed if DeSantis runs, after saying he would finish the job he was elected to do.

Excellent points Seth! There are a lot of folks that don’t want to hear it but the timing means a lot.

Thank you Seth, this was yet again awesome to read. I have already spoken of your wise words with friends & family. Reading this all makes perfect sense. I pray you are right. Essentially in crude terms it would be cannibalistic of Desantis to run. To destroy Trump for his own gain would only destroy his own base. You are so right.

My one niggle is we are at a time when things don’t make sense, we live in a time where there is someone in the White House that manages to say ‘You ain’t black’ to a black man in an era where racist comments are a surety to sink any ones ship. This same man had handfuls of people at rallies vs thousands. He favoured ice-cream over policy.

The steal was so obvious its illumination radiated to the distant shores of Australia. I saw it along with many here.

Around the world we are blessed to have an amazing Army of people who believe truth & justice above all. We now need that vast army, their eyes, ears, knowledge to stand in the way (BEFORE it takes hold) - of wrong doing again. There is no point of garnering evidence, the spineless courts do nothing. Our sheer overwhelming numbers mean this is possible.

Trump simply must win 2024.

A very logical analysis......assuming that the elections aren't rigged. But if Dominion software is still counting the votes next summer, and they will be unless someone files a quo warranto suit very soon, then I think Trump will get the Bernie Sanders treatment. The primaries will be rigged, DeSanctimonious will get the nomination, and he will be selected by the Uniparty to win in 2024. A lot of deplorables will stay home and not vote in November, DeSanctimonious will agree to govern like a RINO (think unwinnable war somewhere) and that will be the end of MAGA. The election deniers will be relegated to cult status after Republicans win the WH, hold the House, and pick up a Senate seat or two. It's all set, I think. Unless the white hat cyber guys win a quo warranto suit and expose the methodology once and for all.

Plus DeSantis, like the 16 Repubs in 16, would get completely pummeled by Trump. Why put yourself through that? He just keeps building strength as a powerhouse heavyweight as Gov of Florida
