I know a few (few!) people who, though their jobs depend on federal money, vote happily for Trump. Earning a living in the short term will be difficult, but we'll be free! I hope the 30% who voted for Trump in DC are of the same mind. It's hard to imagine what else they could be thinking.
Just paying attention the wallet-draining rise in costs of everything one buys regularly and repeatedly since January 21, 2021 is a huge indicator of the contrast between President Trump and anyone else who opposes him, Republican or Democrat.
A lot of Hailey votes in Michigan came from dems too. I would bet out of actual republicans Trump took 80-90% of the vote share easily.
In my little township I work elections. On Election Day my precinct had ~300 voters.
~35 dems. 10%
~55 Hailey 20%
~210 Trump. 70%
But our township is actually 70/30 R/D. That would mean that our primary voters were 90/10. The numbers don’t make sense. Even considering Biden is a shoe in-I would still expect to see at least 20% of votes be in the dem primary. Where are all the missing dem voters? Well-add the Hailey votes to the Dem votes and voila!

I like these two adages because they never fail to be accurate, especially respecting Mr. Trump and Ms. Haley:
1. A man (or woman) can be judged by the quality of his (her) enemies.
2. The character of a man (woman) can be judged by how he (she) treats or regards people who can do absolutely nothing for him (her).

My husband was looking at DC GOP primary results this year versus last time. Incredibly, Trump came close to doubling his percentage in the swamp.
Even some swamp residents get it.
